Noul acord contine, potrivit fostului ministru al muncii al guvernului Papandreou, Louka Katseli, citat de New Yok Times, o clauza care permite creditorilor eleni sa confiste rezervele de aur ale Bancii Centrale a Greciei. ABCNews si Reuters Global Gold Forum au confirmat informatia, desi corespondentii Reuters nu au obtinut nicio pozitie oficiala din partea guvernului de la Atena. Tacerea oficialilor greci si cei europeni pe aceasta tema pare mai degraba o confirmare a stirii. Grecia detine aproximativ 100 de tone de aur. Orice iesire a Greciei din zona euro va fi dublata de o tentativa de iesire a valuei din tara si de o depreciere masiva a monedei sale. Singura pavaza impotriva unei supradeprecieri a monedei ar fi fost rezervele Bancii Centrale, in special cele in aur. Acum, acestea nu mai exista, deci sansele ca Grecia sa adopte drahma din proprie inintiativa sunt nule. Grecii ar putea reveni la drahma, dar doar dupa ce ar fi expulzati din UE si zona euro de partenerii lor care i-ar lasa astfel si batuti si cu aurul luat. Informatia din New York Times este destul de credibila, cu atat mai mult cu cat in ultimele luni, oficiali germani au solicitat statelor PIIGS (Portugalia, Irlanda, Italia, Grecia si Spania) sa-si vanda rezervele sau cel putin sa le foloseasca drept colateral in operatiunile de salvare la care sunt supuse. Norbert Barthle, presedintele comisie de buget a Bundestag-ului, si social-democratul Carsten Schneider, principalul reprezentant al opozitiei, au cerut Portugaliei sa-si vanda o parte din rezerva de aur si sa accepte folosirea sa drept garantie pentru accesarea imprumutului obtinut de la institutiile internationale. Recent, the Times of London avansa la randul sau ideea ca rezervele de aur ale Portugaliei, in valoare de 20 de miliarde de dolari la preturi curente, sa fie folosite ca sursa de finantare a planului de salvare pentru statul lusitan. The Irish Times relata in noiembrie 2011 amanunte referitoare la discutia dintre ministrii de finante din zona euro, care propuneau ca BCE sa preia controlul asupra rezervelor de aur ale bancilor centrale nationale. Si Gunther Krichbaum, parlamentar german, membru al coalitiei de guvernare si presedinte al Comisiei pentru Afaceri Europene a Bundestagului, a avansat ideea ca Italia sa-si vanda rezervele pentru a-si diminua datoria publica. Interesant este insa faptul ca rezervele de aur ale Greciei sunt extrem de mici. Prevederea cuprinsa in acord este probabil una cu bataie mult mai lunga si are in vedere rezervele tuturor statelor PIIGS, care ajung la un nivel de 3.223,5 tone. Din care peste 2.400 de tone sunt detinute de Banca Centrala a Italiei. |




Prin acceptarea conditiilor prevazute in noul acord privind salvarea sa de faliment, Grecia si-a pecetluit soarta. Nu va mai putea sa iasa din zona euro, pentru a-si putea deprecia mondeda si stabiliza nivelul datoriei publice. Motivul: oficialii europeni au pus rezervele de aur ale Bancii Centrale Elene la dispozitia creditorilor institutionali si privati, la mana principalilor responsabili pentru esecul Grecieii, a aliantei birocrati-bancheri comerciali.
