Cum povestea brokerului fugar nu e inca foarte clara, ar trebui sa ne luam precautia minimala de a-i acorda prezumtia de nevinovatie. Insa cateva observartii se impun aproape indiferent de confirmarea acuzatiei. Vazand lista stralucitoare a pagubitilor, imi apare limpede ca unul din motivele fascinatiei si increderii acordate o constituia alura de specialist pur sange a personajului cu pricina. Limbajul tehnic, imprumutul unor formule desprinse din matematica, trecutul de matematician, familiaritatea reala sau doar pretinsa cu marile centre financiare ale lumii au contribuit cu toate la imaginea de guru al speculatiilor. Si implicit la credite generoase de resurse personale. Intr-un interviu acordat revistei “Money Express”, brokerul nostru declara: „40% folosesc economie, 60% matematica. Fac analiza grafica, am niste algoritmi pe care i-am facut singur. (….) Am avut un singur 9 in toata facultatea“. Pentru asteptarile omului cultivat aceasta marturisire e sinonima cu o garantie de sfintenie. Se echivaleaza inteligenta cu matematica, iar apoi inteligenta cu moralitatea si rezulta de aici ca omul nostru nu are cum sa fie altfel decat impecabil….personal si profesional. Nu mai insistam asupra competentelor sale specifice. Cu o singura scadere minora, in patru ani de studii avansate, nu exista vreun motiv puternic de indoiala. Iar presupozitia metafizica, nu stiintifica, aproape unanim acceptata de cel putin 200 de ani incoace, este ca nu numai universul, dar si comportamentul uman poate fi descris exclusiv prin relatii matematice. (Sima declara, intr-un interviu in care poza drept specialist al guvernarii, ca oamenii ar trebui impiedicati sa-si cheltuie banii “oricum si fara discernamant”.) Ce sa mai vorbim de cazul banal al bursei?! Viitorul e maculatura, vorba cartii… Toata aceasta istorie, probabil penala, e o mica drama, tipic moderna a expertului. Niste indivizi, specialisti in domeniul lor, isi incredinteaza economiile unui specialist financiar, convinsi fiind ca alti specialisti in control si reglementare vor avea grija de investitia lor, in cazul in care specialistul financiar ar avea alte planuri. Etichetele preced reputatia, iar mecanismele naturale de control sunt inhibate de prejudecati nemarturisite niciodata, deoarece ar insemna o reevaluare radicala a vietii in ansamblul ei. “It has been remarked that when one passes among the patients of a psychopatic ward, he encounters among the several sufferers every aspect of normal personality in morbid exaggeration, so that it would be possible theoretically to put together a supermind by borrowing something from each. And as one passes through modern centers of enterprises and of higher learning, he is met with similar autonomies of development. Each would be admired for his little achievement of power and virtuosity” (Richard Weaver – “Ideas have consequences”) In acelasi timp, pe langa problema mai larga a specialistului, intervine si cea a statului. Pentru ca institutiile etatiste de supraveghere, compuse la randul lor din experti, reprezinta o inducere in eroare manifesta a clientilor, care traiesc cu sentimentul ca sunt protejati de fraude datorita ochiului vigilent al statului. In fapt, asa cum istoria (Caritas, Gerald, SAFI, FNI, etc) a aratat dureros in cei 20 de ani, nu se intampla nimic de acest fel, ba mai mult autoritatile au colaborat fructuos cu escrocii. Pe o nota comica, nu putem sa nu remarcam cat de ironica este prezenta pe lista victimelor a economistului Daniel Daianu, un vesnic sustinator al reglementarii “pietelor” si un acuzator neobosit al liberalismului. De acum inainte, argumentele in favoarea supravegherii financiare vor avea un parfum suparator de personal.

Nu era normal ca tocmai noi, mereu dornici de sincronizare occidentala, sa fim lipsiti de un Bernie Madoff. Daca prin anii ’90 am fost pricopsiti cu o multime de Charles Ponzi, dintre care cel mai grosolan a fost si este guvernul Romaniei, astazi avem parte, in sfarsit, de o inselaciune financiara “sofisticata”, “ca-n afara”. S-au folosit pentru asta derivate, analize tehnice, relatii publice, presa la greu si cate si mai cate. Tot arsenalul contemporan al manipularii obisnuite.
