O mostra de gandire dezechilibrata ne ofera o profesoara de la Universitatea din Oregon, Kari Norgaard (foto), care compara scepticismul in fata “incalzirii globale” cu atitudinile rasiste. “In primul rand, trebuie sa fim constienti ca acest tip de rezistenta se intampla la toate nivelurile societatii. Daca trebuie sa impingi o greutate, nu inseamna ca nu o poti muta, dar pentru a o impinge mai bine trebuie sa stii ce te asteapta si sa-ti dai seama cum sa o faci – unde sa-ti concentrezi energia pentru a misca greutatea”, declara profesoara. Unde bate Norgaard nu e greu de priceput. Sugestia implicita pe care o face in comparatiile cu rasismul consta in interventia “salvatoare” a autoritatilor, cu ajutorul carora discursurile ce pun la indoiala “incalzirea globala” sa fie scoase in afara legii. Daca scepticii dau dovada de o “boala”, asa cum pretinde Norgaard, atunci ei trebuie izolati prin diverse formule legislative. In aceste circumstante, dreptul la libera exprimare se prabuseste, mai ales ca nici macar comparatia cu rasismul (cultural) nu se sustine pe temeiuri liberale. Adevarul propozitiei “exista incalzire globala” nici nu mai conteaza din acest punct de vedere. Norgaard si-a expus pozitia la Londra in cadrul unei conferinte intitulata “Pamantul sub amenintare”. O declaratie comuna a fost adopta in cadrul evenimentului, prin care participantii au sustinut evacuarea oamenilor de la sate si mutarea lor in orase cat mai dense ca populatie pentru a putea reda pamantul “Mamei Nature”. Deloc intamplator, acesta este exact si programul Agendei 21 a ONU sau viitorul imaginat in “Minunata Lume Noua”. O alta profesoare aflata la conferinta, Karen Soto, de la Yale University, a declarat postului MSNBC: “In mod cert nu vrem ca oamenii sa hoinareasca pe la tara. Vrem sa salvam pamantul pentru natura, printr-o coabitare cat mai intensa ”.
