Asa ca am gasit aici cateva sugestii excelente pentru a vedea configuratia orasului de maine. Iata, de pilda, cum se deschide un articol semnat de Bill Nye, gazda unui show de popularizare a stiintei pentru copii pe canalul tv PBS/Disney, dar si al altor emisiuni similare pe Discovery: “Orasul viitorului va avea locuri accesibile bicicletelor”. Cand spune asta, Nye nu intelege instalatii pentru parcaj si piste speciale, ci doar biciclete ca mijloace de transport. Autorul propune tot felul de solutii fanteziste (tuneluri pentru piste in caz de vreme rea, de exemplu), insa ideea centrala este ca masinile nu vor mai avea loc in peisaj. Autorul admite ca unele dintre idei sunt cam nebunesti, dar nu le neaga potentialul si nici punerea in practica. In opinia lui Nye, o alta caracteristica importanta a orasului futurist o reprezinta Wi-Fi-ul, “pentru ca oamenii sa nu se mai miste peste tot pentru a-si conduce afacerile”. Suna cunoscut? Insa daca articolul de mai sus are tuse un pic exaltate, avem pe acelasi portal si analize mai practice. Daniel Honan scrie despre automatizarea orasului Rio sub titlul “Oras inteligent sau tiranie digitala?”. Materialul debuteaza cu o predictie ce seamana mai mult a wishful thinking decat a gandire rationala: “aproximativ jumatate din populatia globului traieste in asezari urbane si este estimat ca numarul acestora sa ajunga la doua treimi, sase miliarde, pana in anul 2050”. Acesta este, de fapt, programul Agendei 21 si nu vreo ipoteza credibila. Pentru ca ulterior sa aflam cum o retea de computere controleaza mare parte din activitatea metropolei braziliene. Autorul recunoaste ca aceasta putere aproape incontrolabila aminteste de Big Brother, ceea ce nu suna prea bine nici macar pentru transhumanisti declarati. In final nu aflam daca e buna sau rea aceasta informatizare, insa criteriul de judecata pare a fi acela al “tehnologiilor ce ne intensifica umanitatea”. Insa obiectia elementara la aceasta pretentie o reprezinta absenta oricaror standarde imuabile de a defini tocmai umanitatea. Dupa cum bine stim de la evolutionisti, speciile nu sunt fixe. In fine, lista exemplelor aberante de pe bigthink.com poate continua mult si bine, insa ideea de baza promovata pe acest site o reprezinta transformarea radicala a naturii umane prin intermediul stiintei. Din cand in cand, merita sa va amuzati cu astfel de povesti. Cel putin pana nu devin realitate… |




Pentru multa lume, Agenda 21 pare doar o fantezie cam utopica, elaborata de cativa indivizi zbuciumati de prin birourile ONU.
