Materialul prezenta cazul unei femei care s-a ingrasat consumand foarte multa paine si produse procesate precum chipsuri sau pateuri vegetale. Reportajul continea foarte multe lucruri inadecvate la realitate asa ca am sa incerc sa le demontez pe scurt. In primul rand, chiar daca foarte multe persoane practica postul dietetic, semnificatia trebuie sa fie in primul rand spirituala. Nu tii post ca sa slabesti, asa cum nu faci metanii pentru a-ti intari musculatura abdomenului. Parintele Arsenie Papacioc spunea ca postul nu este doar o retinere de la mancare, ci o rugaciune. Iar Calist Catafygiotul afirma: “Căci când a fost dus Domnul Iisus în pustie de către Duhul, având să biruiască pe diavol, a tămăduit partea poftitoare a sufletului prin post; partea raţională prin priveghere şi rugăciune liniştită; şi mânia prin împotrivire în cuvânt”. Dupa cum se poate vedea, in spatele retinerilor culinare, dar nu numai, se afla o intreaga antropologie si soteriologie, insa nu este nevoie sa intram acum in aceste subiecte, cu toate ca ele sunt esentiale pentru intelegerea acestui “ciudat obicei”. In al doilea rand, postul presupune nu doar infranarea de la anumite alimente, ci si o diminuare a cantitatii. Un parinte spunea odata ca daca mananci trei paini pe zi nu inseamna ca ai tinut post. Scopul postului nu il reprezinta trecerea de la hamburgeri la chipsuri, ci lupta cu partea apetenta a sufletului. In al treilea rand, cauzalitatea exprimata in titlu este pur si simplu falsa. Persoanele care tin post, de regula, slabesc, cata vreme nu mananca produse procesate, desi nu acesta este obiectivul, dar, cel mai important, nu se imbolnavesc, in parte din motive legate de alimentatie, dar si din cauze spirituale. Iar cel mai bun exemplu in acest sens il constituie Muntele Athos, acolo unde calugarii au un regim alimentar bazat pe fructe si legume. Un studiu a analizat starea de sanatate a pustnicilor intre 1994 si 2007, iar rezultatele au fost absolut spectaculoase: cancerul are o prezenta foarte redusa (11 cazuri in 13 ani intr-o populatie de peste 2000 de persoane), Alzheimer si Parkinson sunt inexistente, bolile de inima lipsesc. De asemenea, speranta de viata este una dintre cele mai ridicate din lume. Toate aceste detalii nu demonstreaza decat efectele secundare ale postului, scopul principal fiind apropierea de Dumnezeu. Dar despre asta nu veti afla nimic de la televizor. |




Mancarea are o importanta imensa, astfel incat un filosof materialist, Ludwig Fuerbach, foarte apreciat de comunisti, a declarat ca “omul este ceea ce mananca”. Insa, pentru a continua pe aceeasi linie, am putea spune ca la fel de important este si ceea ce nu mananca. Astfel intelegem, cel putin la un nivel elementar laic, semnificatia postului in viata crestinilor, chiar daca resorturile abstinentei de la carne si produse alimentare de origine animala sunt spirituale.
